Terris’s holiday elves filled wish lists for over 80 children after we raised $3,317 of Christmas cheer for local Fredericton families.
As head elf (Oksanta to my friends), I’m pleased to report our staff and co-op students personally donated $1,658.50, which the company matched.
From Fredericton’s extensive ‘nice list’ of non-profits, we selected Greener Village’s Christmas Angels program and The Tipsy Muse Café’s Angel Tree program.
Greener Village is Fredericton’s food bank and we were excited to purchase gifts for 74 of their Angels! Barbies, Lego kits, RC Trucks, craft kits and learning toys were popular items. I was personally excited to find a Pokemon Eevee toy and a Minnie Mouse toy for a couple of our Angels, after I spent an afternoon visiting just about every store in Fredericton.
And shhhhh, don’t tell anyone but Tom did a little special shopping and found some autographed hockey books. Those are some lucky Angels!
Joining me on my holiday shopping spree were Terris elves Jordan Cameron, Mackenzie Storey, Dan Purcell and Phil Cockayne.
We were also able to fill stockings for four families via The Tipsy Muse Café’s holiday giving campaign.
The Muse, as locals call it, is an open creative space right in the heart of downtown Fredericton. Just visit the café, choose an angel, purchase the gifts on the tag and return the tag and the gifts by December 18th. There’s a few days left, to share some joy and good wishes with local families.
After a week of shopping, we’re all ready to enjoy the holidays and we’re happy to have helped spread that Christmas spirit now and into the new year.
Whether it’s via our 1% for the Planet, our commitment to B Corp and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals or holiday giving, all of us at Terris share a belief in giving back to the community where we live and work.
As we close out this year, I and my colleagues wish all of you peace, security and well-being.
Khrystos Rozhdayetsia!
